Surfboard Rentals

The rental fleet has wide variety of boards to help serve beginner, intermediate and advanced riders. No matter your ability level, we got you covered.

Please Note:

  • We do not take reservations. Rentals are on a first come, first serve basis.
    • (During peak season we recommend coming as early as possible to ensure you get a rental. We do sell out.)
  • No overnight rentals
  • We do not rent Stand Up Paddle boards (SUPS)
  • We do not rent wetsuits
  • We may not rent on days when the surf is rough for the safety of our customers. We make the decision in the morning and it will be noted in our daily surf report.

**Please note we will not be renting boards for the remainder of 2019.

We will continue rentals spring/summer of 2020! Thanks for an awesome summer!**

To reach Long Beach from Manhattan, you can take the LIRR Long Beach line directly from Penn Station to our doorstep in about 45 minutes. From Queens and Brooklyn you can use Jamaica Station. Our shop is located just across the street from the LIRR station at 70 W Park Ave. The beach is just four blocks away. Check out this link for package deals from the LIRR.

Do you guys rent Shortboards like 6′ range? and wetsuits? I am planning on coming to NYC in the next week and would love to go for a surf but would rather not pay for baggage or have to bring my suit.

Hi John, We don’t carry used surfboards. We do have boards in that price and size range on the cheaper end that start around $389

      Hey Alex,

Our rentals are typically done by the day. You would be better off buying a board if you plan on renting for an extended period of time.

    Hi there!
Any ideas where to rent 5mm wetsuit plus hoodie, boots & gloves for the folowing days?
I’m only passing through and can’t buy.

      Hi there Nils,

We do not rent them due to sanitary reasons. I would try some of the other shops in town but in years past they have had the same policies as we have. I wish I had a better answer. Sorry!

I’m planning to stay 5 days (July 5th ~ 9th) at Long Beach and wanna rent long board from LB Surf.
Please recommend which kind of wet suits is better I should bring.
I am wondering whether 3 mm full or 2 mm seagull ?
Since my staying at Long Beach is lay over in NY from Chicago of my business trip, I can bring only one kind of wet suit in my baggage.

Excited that you will be stopping by! Most people are wearing 3mm suits right now as the water is warming up to the mid 60’s. During the time of your stay 2mm wetsuit should suffice however it all depends on your tolerance to cold and outside weather conditions. 3mm would be on the safe side but you might be hot. I would probably bring the 2mm. Where is your local surf break? Also, I am not familiar with seagull wet suits.

    • Luke says:

Yes, you can purchase them on the boardwalk at the booths. LIRR has rail ticket and beach pass combinations for a good deal if you are coming from NYC.

Hi, I’m coming to NYC in October (2nd to 14th). I was going to pack a 3/2 and booties. Will that be OK for that time of year? Or will I need a 4/3?
I’m from South Australia so I’m accustomed to the cold and never wear a 4/3 in winter, but we don’t get snow like NYC!!!
